LaSTEMA.org is excited to invite parents, students and STEMA professionals to the 2018 LaSTEMA Conference Thursday, March 22nd, 2018. Hosted by Kansas City Kansas Community College at their Technical Education Center, area colleges and companies who are seeking diverse applicants will be sharing information about their education programs, scholarship information, job listings and professional advice on how to succeed in STEM careers.
LaSTEMA.org was created as a media platform to connect more diverse women to careers in science, technology, engineering, math, and advertising. LaSTEMA.org can be found on the web and on social media channels. For students, the target audience of the conference, they will be able to listen and learn from women already in established in their STEM industry. Five speaking tracks are being established to invited colleges and professional women to give advice and direction on how to enter and succeed in their individual industries. Students will also have an opportunity to meet with area schools who have established STEM education tracks and scholarships.
In addition to the panel discussions, there will be exhibition space for local community colleges and secondary colleges to share information about their STEM programs. Local STEM companies who have STEM employment openings are invited to use the day-long conference to recruit new hires to their organization by sponsoring and having a booth at this unique event.
LaSTEMA.org is currently seeking diverse professional women to join the list of presenters and panelist who will share advice and success stories to high school, college, and young professionals. For more information, please download the sponsorship document and contact Nicholas Segura, LaSTEMA.org Executive Director.
